Emo Music
Emo music and Emo Bands have been a subject of many debates since emo music for the first time appeared. So how could we best describe emo music, well to be honest this would be very hard task because various emos prefer various types of music, but in general we could discribe emo music as a genre of rock music. For the first time term emocore was used in the ’80s to describe a sub genre of hardcore punk music.

“The Used” is a rock band based in Orem, Utah. The music from this band could be classified as a different genres of rock music. The Used rock band was firstly introduced in 2001 but the members of the band have lots of experience because they are in the industry from early 90s. In 2001, the band members wrote some songs to release their first demo album with the name “Demos from the basement”. They contacted many producers and companies to help them release their CD, but they did not succeed, but after some hard months their CD got popularity and they signed a contract with Reprise Records, a music production house.

Jimmy Eat World

Jimmy Eat World is a rock band formed in Mesa, Arizona, in 1993. the base of this group was formed by the two friends Jim and Zach who are guitarist and drummer respectively. During the early times they adopted punk rock style and Linton was the leading singer of the group. Just after couple of years the band released three tracks and a full length volume under the banner of a local music production house “Wooden blue records”. The name of the group was formed after an incidental drawing draw by the younger brothers of Jimmy, in this drawing they show the earth in Jimmy mouth and the title of this painting was “Jimmy Eat World”.

Saosin is one of the most popular post hardcore bands in the United States, very popular among emos. Saosin was established during the summer of 2003 in Newport Beach, California. The name Saosin was given by Anthony Green a former Saosin singer and is based on Chinese phrase “Xiao Xin” with the dictionary meaning of this phrase “small heart”. The first demo song from Saosin was titled ‘You are no angel’ which was composed by Beau Burchell and Anthony Green.

Mayday Parade is a name of a popular USA rock band. This band was firstly formed by former members of Kid Name Chicago and Defining Moment in Florida. Their first EP was titled “Tales told by dead friend” and was sold in more than 25,000 copies without any advertisement or sponsors. The sound and lyrics of their first EP were very imaginary and very well accepted by the public.

FFTL or From First to Last is a post hardcore emo band from USA. This band was initiated in 1999 by Matt Good, Scott Oord and Steve Pullman in Brandon, Florida. At the beginning the name of the band was “First to Last” but after a year they added a prefix “From” with their band name. The debut EP was released in 2003 with the title Aesthetic. The band signed Epitaph Records, a music company at the end of 2003.
