The Emo look is a combination of many things put together and without the right makeup, the clothes and the hair just will not look complete. Both boys and girls of the Emo following usually wear makeup although it is somewhat easier for the girls to perfect their look.
Both boys and girls should have an endless supply of eyeliner. It is this that gives the Emo kids their dark and grim look and there should be plenty of it applied both on the upper and the lower eyelids. The darker, the better is the slogan of choice with regards to eyeliner and if you cannot get this right, you simply will not be Emo enough!
Black nail polish should be worn with the eyeliner to again give a dark and somber appearance. Normally the varnish will be chipped but this is not a necessity. Very dark purples and reds are always good for the Emo look and these colors are also perfect for eye shadow alongside your dark eyeliner.
No blusher is allowed with the Emo look and where possible the face should be as pale as your skin color will allow. As a more emphasized opinion of this look, it has been referred to as a ghost that has been punched in the eyes. When you remember this and apply makeup accordingly, you should have the Emo look to a tee!
