The Importance of Music with the Emo Scene
The Importance of Music with the Emo Scene
The Emo look is very much in these days and it tends to be with the younger generation. The look, the attitude and even the music taste is important with this making it more of a lifestyle than a fashion look. Speaking of which, music is essential with the Emo culture and it allows the Emo kid to let out their emotions in a way that is both somber and thoughtful.
Pete Wentz - Fall Out Boy

Emo culture demands that you play at least one instrument and the normal instruments of choice are the drums and also the guitar. However, if a budget does not extend to buying an instrument and having lessons, the next option is to write lyrics. This is perfect to let out pent up frustration and the emotions that they are currently feeling at the time. Either way, photos writing lyrics or playing the instrument should be taken and posted on the social networking site of choice which is usually Facebook or MySpace.
Poetry and lyric writing is of the utmost importance with Emo kids and they tend to write such masterpieces when they are finally miserable or angry and if they are not feeling these emotions, they are usually made up from experiences that they have had to deal with in the past.
My Chemical Romance

As for the music itself with the Emo lifestyle, the dark and grim style is carried on with the likes of My Chemical Romance and Fallout Boy being the top bands of choice which express lyrics that are recreating the emotions that they are feeling at that time.
